Land of Ledgends (Role Playing Park and Research Center))

medieval? iron age? stone age?..... maybe 2011
grinding wheat with a rock. hard work!!
medieval transportation with modern safety.
this is iron age house
iron age 'man' having a cigarette break while their chicken was cooking....i didn't realize they smoked during iron age!!!!
the Danes pay $200 dollars to dress up and live in the 'age' that they desire for a one week period. they live in that 'authentic' way (except for smoking!!) like this guy above seen in Iron Age.
Iron Ager"s" having lunch....it was a chowder that smelled delciious.
this is the 1800's peasant village. a pair of clogs cost one year's worth of pay. the clogs were a treasure not to be ruined. kids were sent off at 5 or 6 to work the fields etc and they came home at christmas (maybe).
1800's house
1800's workshop....we carved spoons which was hard work!
Picking goose berries and black berries from a farm stand.

Lego Copenhagen (they used like 4million pieces of lego for this display)....
lego Copenhagen cont.....
harbor shot....this area of the re-created places was the best part of Legoland.
Tourist asleep.....Coke couldn't believe his eyes!!

Bike Touring with New Danish Friends

Coke biked by himself thru the busy, wet streets Copenhagen. He did really well navigating the weather (rain) and traffic. The bikers here bike fast and pass you within inches. He seemed mostly unfazed by this.
This is a canal on the border of Christiana - a renegade neighborhood in Copenhagen.
Camille with her new friend Otto who loved the attention.
This park is in Christiana neighborhood. This is a homemade zip line.
This is the beginning of the zip!
Mark and I in front of a cool doorway of a courtyard of interesting homes and garden. This place is difficult to explain. You just have to come and see it. It was army barracks that became defunct so squatters took over. These squatters had children and basically a town (70,000) grew out of this. There has been a big battle over this VERY valuable land smack in the middle of Copenhagen. It was recently settled where the current residents will pay fee and tax but they own their current places.
There is a lot of drug selling here and police raids monthly.
Cool house on a lake...
another interesting place with green roof.

Camille and Otto again...and this bike is made here in Christiana. We went to the 'factory' of hand-made bikes!! They are really awesome bikes!

Afternoon at Tivoli

Copenhagen's two hundred year old amusement park. Walt D. came here for some inspiration.
Camille driving a boat! watch out ducks!!!
Coke speeding and doing donuts in his power boat. They loved this ride!
The pantomime theatre where we saw a ballet of sorts.

This is our neighborhood.

Coke is standing in front of one lake. His eyes are constantly searching for critters!
A short break from bickering!
Someone nailed these benches to fallen trees that jet out into the lake. It's quite a seat.
This a beautiful walking path around da'hood. Summer cottages surround the lakes (there are three big ones). The house we're in is two of these walking paths away from one lake.
Typical cottage - very artistic. It reminds of us of Venice walking streets.

Day trip to Louisana Museum

This museum is one of the coolest museums we've ever been to. It's about 20 mins north of Copenhagen ((or Kobenhavn if you live in Denmark!). The museum feels like someone's home that rambles on and on. You can move inside to out very easily. The main exhibit we saw was called Living Spaces.
This is a model for a hotel made of plexiglass full of miniature people.
Camille in a wooden block house structure.
This is the block structure.
Coke made this match stick, cardboard, glue piece in the children's section where there was ceramics, lego (all yellow pieces), watercolors and architecture-type constructions. We could have spent all day in that area alone!
This is the big kid's (the artist) installation. "What makes a home?"
The drive to the Louisana...not too shabby!

Our backyard activities....

Jules - the bunny - is the nicest bunny we've ever met. We can walk her like a dog on a leash.

The Oldest Monarchy in Europe!

The Danish we find have had super style through the ages - they are almost like the Japanese that way - stylish sea faring pirates.
