A regal dusty chateau full of ghosts

This is the oldest chateau in France still owned by the same family since the late 17th century. You can only see 14 of its many rooms because some of the family still lives there.

It strikes quite an impressive and lonely stance out in the beautiful French countryside. The wind was blowing wonderfully as we walked the road up to it.
It has a deep dry moat.
And a fairly empty garden.
But fun in a vast empty creepy dreamlike kind-a-way.
The had a pretty pond out back that had a stature of the thinker, but someone stole him last year.

We took a tour of the inside of the Chateau, but we couldn't take photos. The inside was alright. The kitchen was the best part.
The tack room and these stables were really impressive in that old world way. The old carriages were amazing. I would have taken more pictures, but we were forbidden.
The tour was all in French - the kids were a bit frustrated and hanging on Marian or fighting or winning and occasionally having a good time exploring - which you can understand - they're kids. It was overall kind of a rotting old place that was stuck in shadows of the past. But - fun to see.

Opps
