Nantes Central Market - The Marche Talensac

The Marche Talensac is just wonderful. It is the full glory of what we think of as a great french central market. It has an inside with meats and cheese and sea food as well as bread, sweets and organic vendors or Biologique. Here is the inside - you can see the "AB" logo on the right. That is an organic meat vendor.
Just incredible fish and seafood - so fresh from the Atlantic.

Incredibly creative sweets.

And the outdoor perimeter has fresh fruits and vegetables. Organic too.

Camille is having a fresh crepe.

Here is the Brioch vendor - a very popular thing in this part of France.

Here is another fantastic car we can't get in America.

Our last meal in France.

Boat ride on the Canal/River in Nantes

We rented an electric boat to travel up what was used previously as a canal for trade that runs trough Nantes. This canal links hundreds of miles North to Brest France. It's a beautiful canal.

The old canal boats that were once used for trade are now super cool house boats.
These old canal boats are generally long and skinny to navigate the canals that stretch beyond the photos you see here.

Coke tries skipping a rock.

Beach Day on the French Atlantic Coast

Here we are in the beach - it's just beautiful, but packed with people.
The water felt great. just like southern California in the Summer. Very pleasant. Good waves and surfing.

We later went to a coastal harbor town that was beautiful and had a terrible dinner with a great view.

They have these crazy Merry-Go-Rounds all over the place in the summer. Really fun to do though on a summer evening.

Coke and Camille really had to be together this trip and work trough a lot of negotiations and fights - which is good.

Another Great Park in Nantes France

This is another just wondeful park in Nantes. It's a very livable college city.

They had a fun merry-go-round.

And fun toboggan sleds.

And they had a wonderful dahlia garden too.

They had these fun Tobaggen-like cars. Coke.

Camille.

And a super fun Merry-Go-Round.

Puy Du Fou - Amusement Park

We went to a very cool amusement park called Puy Du Fou that is in the country side and has great historical recreations. Crowds of people march through the woods from one show to the next. It's super fun.
We first passed through a 100 year old town center.

Here is the medieval show.
All the shows basically presented the French overcoming the oppressive forces of another peoples in history.

Here is an Iron age village.
And here is the battle and chariot race where the Gauls prevail over the Romans.

Here is the family in the 16th century village.
Here we are petting the long haired French Donkey.

This Bird show was fantastic.

The chariot race was great.

And this viking battle was great and hilarious.
